NILS WRASSE

A Modern Score
for an Ancient World
One Vision · 60 Musicians · A Pitch for Bloodaxe

This isn't a mock up. It's a real production
I led a production involving nearly 60 professionals including live orchestra
recordings in Budapest, soloists, orchestrators, and engineers.
I deliberately broke away from typical Viking drums and clichés to craft a modern, cinematic sound that feels raw, ancient, and deeply human.

This is a full production, made to show exactly what I could bring to a series like Bloodaxe.

Behind the Music

I’m Nils Wrasse, a film composer based in Munich.
I studied film scoring and have written music for a range of narrative films, documentaries, and series.
My focus is on emotionally driven storytelling and creating bold musical identities that shape the world of a story, not just support it.

My work blends orchestral writing with detailed, hands-on instrumentation.
I perform many of the instruments myself, which brings a raw, physical quality to the sound. Combined with live orchestral recordings, this creates a musical world that feels crafted, human, and alive.

One of the films I scored, Tala’Vision, received a Student Academy Award in Gold. That experience taught me how powerful music can be when it’s crafted with passion, precision and purpose.

When I read that Bloodaxe was in development, I knew I wanted to pitch for it.
So I built this entire score from scratch to show what I could bring to a series like this.
