NILS WRASSE
Composer

Music for your imagination.
I’m a musician and film composer based in Munich, working across orchestral, electronic, and hybrid sound worlds. Music has always been my way of understanding stories and emotions, not just as something to listen to, but as something that carries meaning and narrative.
My musical path took me through Detroit and Berlin, where I developed a strong foundation as a saxophone player before turning my focus increasingly toward composing for film.
I’ve written music for fictional films, documentaries, and series, collaborating closely with directors and creative teams internationally.
My first collaboration with Murad Abu Eisheh, Tala’Vision, received the Student Academy Award in 2021 and was shortlisted for the Oscars in 2022, an experience that shaped my understanding of how powerful music can be when it’s crafted with intention and purpose.
Alongside composing, I’m a multi-instrumentalist, and this strongly shapes my creative process.
I perform and record most of the musical material myself, building each score from the ground up before expanding it with soloists or, when the project calls for it, live ensemble or orchestral recordings. This hands-on approach keeps the music organic, unique, and closely connected to the emotional core of the story.
From intimate solo textures to full orchestral productions, my focus is always the same: supporting the narrative and bringing the story to life through music.
